You know, I’ve decided to give up on dystopian fiction.
It’s just not popular in the wonderful, peaceful, perfect world we live in
Think I’ll write some contemporary uplit instead, from now on.

I can’t tell if you’re being serious but if you are – on one hand I love dystopian fiction but on the other hand maybe it’s too close to the current truth and so a bit of uplit would cheer me up

Hello weekend warriors! Anyone writing this weekend, and what are you working on?
I’m doing a little outline work on books 2 and 3 of The Nameless Trilogy – been thinking a lot about trilogies lately, and of course my 2 faves, Star Wars and LOTR, and how everything goes deeper and gets amplified in book 2 with false victories followed by…

I’ve got an editorial report to finish, then I’m working on a new CB, and planning my adult book.

Here’s a wee controversial discussion topic, folks.
Virtual Voice Audiobooks! KDP are now offering this beta service to selected authors and books (but it will role out wider soon), for those who wish for their books to become audiobooks via a virtual voice.
Pros; you can have an audiobook of any book, at low cost (royalties and terms etc are…

I don’t think I’d want to listen to an audiobook created by a virtual voice. Surely it would be emotionless. It could possibly work for non-fiction.

It’s a no from me.
I’ve stopped reading audio books before because I couldn’t get on with the narrator, can’t imagine how much worse that would be with an ai voice.
I also think ethically it just doesn’t hold up. I can see why indie authors would be tempted but it is definitely taking away work from paid actors. We’re all (I’m assuming…

Hello, who is keen to come along for a meet up in Linlithgow? We had one planned a few weeks ago but had to cancel because of the storm. It would be great to get another date confirmed so I’ll get a chat organised to agree on the details. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll set up a group chat.
-
I’d be interested, Lesley-Ann. Date depending on childcare as before, but would love to meet up.

Thanks Fiona
I’ll wait a few days and hopefully others will see this message. I know @zeshanakhter and @JCombes would like to meet up too so we’ll have at least 4 of us if we can get a date to suit

Hello lovelies!
We’ve got the ND chat scheduled for tonight -at 8pm my internet has just been restored after a powercut so hopefully it’ll stand up! I can send a link a bit later this evening – who’s able to attend tonight? If not many I can do tomorrow evening if preferable?

Despite Instagram’s attempt to delete my NEW profile as well this morning (I AM REAL!!), I’m hanging in there and my cover and pre-order details are up now on all the socials. Bit of a rollercoaster day and I’m in the middle of a school visit too! Here’s my cover anyway.

And it’s a fabulous book – I’ve read lots of it (and all of the second one) and it’s properly funny and fast-paced and all those good things that the kids in my school (not to mention my daughter!) are going to LOVE! Pre-order available now!
