WriteMentor Awards: The Longlists
We are delighted to announce the longlists for the 2025 WriteMentor Picture Book and Novel Awards, sponsored by David Higham Associates.
Firstly, thanks to everyone who entered this year – all in all, we had 837 entries from across the world and across all the age categories and genres. The breakdown is below for those who like the stats!

On that note, I’d like to thank our brilliant first and second round readers, who do a brilliant job in helping decide which entries our judges are likely to want to read, as well as managing their own tastes and subjective likes. They did state that the standard was impressively high this year and even the entries they said no to were often very strong!
