A writer of Scots, Irish and Cornish descent, Sophie became well known for starring in the movie SWALLOWS & AMAZONS as a girl. She has a degree in anthropology and a background in TV production. After directing her first documentary for Channel 4 while driving from London to Johannesburg she worked on BBC dramas at Elstree and Ealing studios, produced an INSET series and wrote her own docu-dramas before setting up wildlife films in Botswana, Namibia and South Africa where she was based for twelve years. Now back in the UK, Sophie gives illustrated talks, promoting her non-fiction books at cinemas, literary events and on BBC Radio. She has just given at Q&A at a Doctor Who convention and is planning a challenge ride through a game reserves on the Limpopo to raise funds to help girls exceed in rural South Africa.
