Throughout my writing life, bar a few fleeting moments in time, I’ve had this constant inner debate every single day about writing.
And it’s driven me to the brink so many times because I allow it to be a debate.
I know the way to stop this is to end the debate.
To simply write every day like I shower, or go to work, or make my kid’s lunches.
So the debate ends today. I know I can do it, as I’ve done it for extended periods in the past, but now I want it to be forever.
I love doing it, and it has a massive adverse affect if I don’t.
So I’m ending the debate.
No more decisions.
There is no try.

It’s like with the Nike slogan – it’s only 3 words, and the most important one is ‘Just’. It acknowledges that effort is involved and hesitation is probably present, but encourages you to go for it.

Well done Stuart – a great affirmation.

I often get a feeling of guilt when I’ve spent lots of time writing, probably because it doesn’t earn me any money (yet). It can be hard to explain to family why I love it so much. I guess that’s why having writing communities like WM is so important – it’s nice knowing you’re not alone.
