FREE: WM Community Group – Open to Public a week agoHey, hive mind question! Can anyone think of a picture book where the main character has lost their home and is trying to find a new one?

Can’t think of one off the top of my head, but maybe one of the ones later on this list might prove useful? https://www.booksfortopics.com/booklists/topics/geography/houses-homes-buildings/

FREE: WM Community Group – Open to Public 4 weeks agoHi!
For some reason I can’t access any other groups or anyone’s post any more. Is this a wider problem with site at the mo?
thanks!

Hi Sarah! System sometimes does that – I’ve re-added you to hub members so just go ahead and request access to any groups you want from sub groups and I’ll let you in, sorry about that!

FREE: WM Community Group – Open to Public 4 weeks agoA question for unpublished, unagented writers – have you created your own website?
I have the online presence of a hermit crab and am wondering whether creating my own website is one of the many things I should be doing if I want agents to take me seriously as a writer. Any thoughts welcome.

Hi Wendy, I don’t have an agent at the moment, but have had in the past, and I do have a trad publishing deal. In my experience a website is not something an agent will particularly be looking for but might be a nice bonus, especially if it has original content related to what you’re writing about. Maybe have a look at published authors in…

Hi Wendy, I think if you want one, there’s no harm in it. But it’s not a ‘should’ – don’t feel you have to have one if it’s not in your comfort zone. Same as being on SM – it’s not essential.
I am agented but unpublished, and I don’t have a website yet.

FREE: WM Community Group – Open to Public 2 months agoHi all!
I was wondering if you could help me with a question about the summer mentoring programme application. Since it’s just one application per person do we address the query letter to all three mentors?? Thanks for your help!
-
Yes! Just ‘Dear Mentors’ or ‘Dear x, x and x’ is perfect! 🙂

FREE: WM Community Group – Open to Public 4 months agoHi Stuart or Melissa, I’ve purchased a membership but it seems I still don’t have access to any of the private groups like PitchHero? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help!

Hi Kayla – we need to add you manually as you’re a pre-existing member – I’ll send you an invite to the hub membership grou now, and then please use the subgroups tab to request access to all the groups you would like to join. For any critique groups, message me separately and I’ll add you to those. Thank you!
