Workshop Leader:

Ben Davis writes funny, contemporary kid-lit with plenty of heart. His The Private Blog of Joe Cowley series was hailed as a successor to Diary of a Wimpy Kid and he has published a number of standalone MG novels, including My Embarrassing Dad’s Gone Viral and What’s That in Dog Years?

Rhian Ivory got her first publishing deal at 26 (found on the slush pile by J.K.Rowling’s editor) and went on to write three more novels for Bloomsbury. She took a break to have three children and during this time taught Creative Writing and also a Children’s Literature course for the Open University for over ten years.
Rhian currently teaches part-time in an SEN department, works with students with Autism with therapy dogs, has trained a Medical Detection Dog and is about to work with Dogs for Good.
Rhian is a National Trust Writer in Residence and a Patron of Reading.
Rhian is a Womentor and works with writers on a range of projects.
Rhian has written her first picture book and is currently writing her 9th novel.
