Bio: I live in Bristol with my young family, a feral cat and an errant puppy. I’ve just finished my third novel, Snowglobe, and so I’m in the early stages of drafting my fourth, while doing school visits to discuss the first two.
Experience: Former journalist, graduate of Bath Spa MA in Creative Writing, agented for 2.5 years, published 18 months.
Mentoring style: I’ll give an overall report with my thoughts, plus more detailed notes on the manuscript itself.
Mentee style: Someone who is passionate about what they’re doing, and a little open-minded about suggestion.
What you’d love to see in a novel? Strong voice and a bit of dark/tangly.
Favourite novels: The Magicians of Caprona, Diana Wynne Jones, anything by Patrick Rothfuss, VE Schwab, Holly Black, Jonathan Stroud.
