Published Books: GG: The Diary of a Space Case, The Purpose of Me, and is OUT ON SUBMISSION

Genre: Humorous MG with a tie into Science Fiction.

Bio: Molly Shaffer began telling stories (or fabricating the truth) at a remarkably young age, and she enjoys using words to transform the world around her.
At the ripe old age of twenty-one, Molly became a teacher and grew alongside her students. In the beginning of her teaching career, she battled in the trenches of primary school, and currently braves the front lines of middle school as an English teacher. Her favorite part of teaching is watching her students’ fears of writing diminish as they explore the freedom of the written word.
As an author, Molly has a soft spot for epistolary novels, humorous science fiction, and tales where the protagonist pursues authenticity. She writes picture books, middle grade, young adult, new adult, and adult fiction.

Experience: Molly has been writing since 2006 and self-published her first MG novel (GG The Diary of a Space Case). She submitted to agents for seven-plus years and landed her dream agent, Jessica Schmeidler of Golden Wheat Literary Agency, in 2014. Molly has written seven MG novels, which include two series, one of the series is out on submission. She has also written five YA novels, one of which is a series and is also out on submission. Molly writes and edits for Sandals Church in Riverside California, and she has taught seventh grade English for over sixteen years. Molly is also an intern agent at Golden Wheat Literary Agency but has put that aside for the past few months to focus on finishing up her third book in one of her MG series.

Mentoring style: Molly prefers to be a hands-on mentor and would love to chat via text, email, and possibly on the phone. She’d like to help someone advance in the writing industry as others have helped shape her career.

Projects: Molly loves quirky voices with authentic, humorous stories. She’d loved to see a mashup novel with a plot similar to Stranger Things, The Goonies, Stand by Me, and Bunnicula.

Favourite novels: Bunnicula, The Harry Potter Series, A Monster Calls

Mentoring package offered: Query package (synopsis, query letter, 1st 3 chapters)
